in support of the cancer survivors in your lives!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">There&#8217;s a ride for everyone, from the beginner to the experienced cyclist.  Riders choose a distance of 10, 25, 50, 75 or 100 Miles &#8211; New England&#8217;s Toughest Century &#8211; and raise funds to support their ride, ranging from $500 &#8211; $750 for adults, depending on the distance. Students raise $250 and there&#8217;s even a Jr. Challenge on the event grounds for the youngest participants (no fundraising required). This is an event for the entire family!</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a memorable day filled with friends, family and fun.  You&#8217;ll have the ride of a lifetime!</p>

<p><strong>About the CT Challenge: </strong> Since 2005, the CT Challenge has been raising funds to support unique programs for cancer survivors through the CT Challenge Bike Ride.  To date, over $6 million has been raised to support programs throughout Connecticut impacting thousands of cancer survivors.  This fall, the CT Challenge Center for Survivorship will open in Southport, CT.  The Center is the first of it&#8217;s kind in the nation, a standalone survivorship program focused on improving the health and wellness of cancer survivors and advancing the field of survivorship care through evidence based research conducted in partnership with scientists from Yale University and the University of Connecticut. <p>Travel with Sherpa to Miami for the Tropical 5K run in picturesque Miami Beach.</p>
<p>Jean and his Sherpa team of professionals will design a customized program targeted to your specific event goals, needs, and finishing times.</p>
<p>Training for the Tropical 5K begins Dec. 19th and continues through race day, January 28, 2012. You will receive a detailed daily training plan delivered each week, and every Saturday there will be a group meeting and a designated mapped route for you to complete. A Sherpa coach will be attending every Saturday run. Price: $300</p>

<h1>General Tips</h1>
<ol>
<li>You can not eat too many vegetable</li>
<li>Aim for a variety of bright colors on your plate</li>
<li>Eat a vegetable salad before the entrée to avoid over eating.</li>
<li>Most seafood is highly nutrient dense, but should only be consumed in moderation</li>
<li>At least half of your grains should be whole grains</li>
<li>Find alternatives to red meat without sacrificing nutrient intake</li>
<li>If you eat red meat, prefer grass-fed</li>
<li>Pasta is great for gaining weight, but offers little nutritional benefit</li>
<li>Pizza over pasta almost every time</li>
<li>Avoid fried or greasy</li>
<li>When is comes to dessert, avoid sugar and look for something with nutritional benefit</li>
<li>Dark chocolate, high in cocoa, is the best option for a guilty pleasure</li>
</ol>

<p>Treat yourself to a customized training &amp; nutrition program culminating in a race event weekend in Miami, January 27 &#8211; January 29, 2012.There&#8217;s something for everyone, from beginners to experienced runners.</p>
<p>Jean and his Sherpa team of professionals will design a customized program targeted to your specific event goals and needs.</p>
<p>The program begins October 31st and continues through race day, January 29, 2012: $300</p>
<p>Sherpa participants travel to Miami on January 27th and stay in the Gansevoort South Beach for a minimum of two nights. Additional nights available on request: $445/night plus room tax.</p>
