Susie has over six years of experience as a competitive runner, participating in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field. She competed as a three-season athlete during her four years at Staples High School and has taken her career to the next level as a member of the Emory University cross country and track teams. She considers herself an adventurer and lover of the outdoors, especially when it comes to exploring new places through a long run, ride, hike, or walk. Her years of competitive running have instilled in her a great level of expertise about training, nutrition, racing, and most importantly, the individualized needs of each athlete. She firmly believes that no two runners’ needs as athletes are the same, and that success requires individualized planning centered around each athlete’s personal goals, needs, and background.
In addition to running, Susie has developed a passion for cycling while joining Sherpa’s semi weekly group rides. Through incorporating cycling into her collegiate cross country training, she has discovered the massive aerobic benefit that comes from incorporating cross-training into a structured running program. This not only allows for the increased training volume from the low-impact nature of cycling, but also aids in injury prevention. Susie can adapt any training program to include varying levels of cross-training based on the desires of any athlete. She hopes to spread her passion for endurance sports training to clients of any experience level.
